I’ve known Kris for [almost] half our lives – we met when we were 15 years old in high school and have been inseparable ever since! I like to refer to her as the quintessential New Yorker; she knows great hidden gems around the city and is always checking out a new restaurant, park, museum or art gallery. Being the directionally-challenged girl that I am, I often find myself asking her for directions when I’m home for a visit. Out of all of my friends, Kris is the most creatively gifted. It amazes me how she can paint a landscape or portrait with ease or pick up a camera and capture a moment so beautifully. Click here to see some of her work.
Her style is a mix of comfort and girly chic and the summertime is when it takes center stage. There’s rarely a time during the warmer seasons (read: never) when Kris wears jeans or leggings. She opts for dresses, skirts and shorts in a multitude of colors, cuts and patterns. When that brutal New York winter comes around, Kris shifts to neutral colors and looks for clothes that are comfortable and functional, depending on layers for warmth and style. If you hate leg prisons as much as she does, she swears by Uniqlo Heat Tech Leggings for frigid East Coast days and nights. Overall her style is similar to mine: eccentric, feminine and always evolving, pulling from what interests her rather than a distinct, uniformed look.
